The special train for the Grey Cup’s 100th anniversary has been unveiled today at the Vancouver Station.

As part of this celebration, the Grey Cup will cross the country onboard a special VIA Rail train. It will consist of a museum that will be stopping at many VIA stations across the country, including Vancouver, Jasper, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Sarnia, Windsor, London, Ottawa, Quebec City, Moncton and Halifax!

During the stops at the VIA stations, the fans will have the opportunity to meet Canadian Football League (CFL) legends, to see the Grey Cup and visit the exhibition on the history of this prestigious trophy. The visitors will be able to discover many historic items, including team sweaters from throughout the years, photographs and video archives. There will also be a train car dedicated to the history of the CFL teams. All in all, the Grey Cup’s 100th anniversary train will most certainly please Canadian football fans.

Earlier today, Mr. Paul G. Smith, Chairman of VIA Rail’s Board of Directors, joined many dignitaries, namely Mr. Mark Cohon, Commissioner of the CFL, for the celebrations kick-off in Vancouver. You can read his speech by clicking here.
