Since 2007, the Government of Canada has invested nearly one billion dollars to strengthen passenger train service at VIA Rail. This is the largest capital investment in our history.
These investments result in many projects that primarily affect:
| We are refurbishing our rolling stock, locomotives and cars, to provide more accessible, efficient and reliable service. In short, we offer a more comfortable and, of course, a greener trip! | |

We are improving and modernizing more than 50 of our stations in communities across the country. In some cases, we are building entirely new stations to adapt to current customer needs and operational requirements. |

We are expanding and improving tracks and infrastructure in the Québec City – Ontario corridor, particularly in the Montréal – Ottawa – Toronto triangle, where demand for passenger train service is the greatest. |

We are investing in new state-of-the-art technologies to provide better Wi-Fi services, e-tickets, mobile services, etc. |
